president-elect obama!!!

i’d love to say something profound,
but i’m just like, “wow!!!”
people who lived through segregation
probably can put the best perspective on it.
we’re living history!
i woke sanaa up
– aya and rahmah were already awake –
so we could hear
what i call obama’s “yes we did” speech together.
afterwards, aya and i did an obama-dance.

we came this far.
that MUST mean we can do even better.
inshaAllah.
