nappy hair

while we’re unpacking
the girls’ things
we’re rediscovering all the goodies
– toys, dress up clothes, books –
that we’d packed away on our way to amman.

as far as books,
there aren’t that many,
but there are enough so that
i haven’t even had the desire
to go to the library yet.

this is the third night in a row
or so
that rahmah has picked out the book
nappy hair
by carolivia herron
to read before bed.

it’s fun to read
and the pictures are dazzling.
