easy arabic on the mac
yeah, you can learn a whole new keyboard
– although i’ve read there are at least 5 different versions
of arabic keyboards –
OR
(i’m so excited)
you can use an arabic QWERTY keyboard.
i.e. if you press “L”
you get Ù„ (lam),
or if you press “R”
you get an ر (ra).
i’m so cised
(that’s 80’s slang for proud of myself)
cause my husband had some program installed on his PC
for months,
but come to find out it’s,
of course,
standard on a mac.
all you have to do is click a check box.
here’s how:
click apple >
system preferences >
international >
input menu tab >
scroll down until you see
“ARABIC-QWERTY - keyboard - unicode”
on one line.
click that magic check box and
voila!
i’m running max os X 10.4,
so other versions may be a bit different.
see ishaq: told you macs were better.
