alHamdullilah for adversity
i’ve been hesitant
– read “scared” –
to go out to run errands without my husband.
i’ve rationalized
that it has to do with me being pregnant
and not wanting to carry the shopping bags,
or walk amman’s many hills,
or be in a taxi with a strange man
– like i never did that before in DC –
or be in a taxi with a strange man who might not speak english,
and etc. and etc.
Allah knows best,
but i think He was like:
“oh, you’re scared.
we’ll i’m gonna make you HAVE to go out by yourself
so you can see that you can do it.”
rahmah had already come down with bronchitis
and sanaa was showing some of the same symptoms.
Allah presented me the opportunity to take sanaa to the pediatrician
cause ishaq had to be in class that morning.
i could’ve called a friend to ride with me,
but i didn’t want to be a pain.
i called the pediatrician for directions
and set off with a coughing sanaa in tow.
(even having her with me was somewhat of a comfort, though)
we made it there and back easily with my few words of arabic.
sanaa was on the way to feeling better
and i had a bit more confidence, alHamdullilah.
