ajloon - islamic castle

some pictures from ajloon,
an amazing castle north of amman
used during the times of salah-id-deen,
the crusades and the like.

they had systems for fresh water and waste,
defense, bakeries, etc.,
a dry moat who bridge was like a see-saw
instead of the typical drawbridge.

a fascinating history.
on a clear day you can see palestine!

there were many other clever details
and a very entertaining, highly educated, smoking guide.
