30 Days (in someone else’s shoes)

quadira told me about this:

morgan spurlock, the maker of supersize me,
the movie that totally turned me off to fast food
and one of my favorite snacks:
mcDonald’s fries
is doing other 30 day adventures
with other people in very interesting situations.
this season’s episodes include
an athiest living with evangelical christians,
a stauch anti-illegal immigrationist (is that a word?) living in a 1-br with an illegal immigrant family of 7 (!),
mr. spurlock himself is going to jail
– guess he couldn’t find anyone else to do that one –
and more.

what hooked me though
to spend an hour on youtube
was the episode from the previous season
– which is already out on DVD –
about, of course, a christian living with muslims
in the biggest muslim community in america.
he didn’t convert
– which really wasn’t the point –
but his views of arab muslims
and muslims in general
changed from that a muslims/islam = terrorist
to muslim are people you can’t stereotype
from TV images.
check out that episode from youtube:

30 Days comes on wednesdays on FX at 10PM.

i sound like a commercial.
