FOR THE PASS 2YEARS I BEEN WORKING ON A PRIVATE DUTIES JOB. IN THE LOGAN CIRCLE AREA. I WORK IN THE 1600 BLOCK OF 15TH STREET. IN SEPT 2005 I NOTICE A WHITE MAN STALKING ME EVERYMORNING, THE MAN WAITING IN THE FRONT OF MY APT BUILDING. THIS TOOK PLACE EVERYMORNING, I WOULD CHANGE MY DIRECTION AND HE WOULD BE THERE TO, I STARTED CALLING 311 FOR THE POLICE , AND I WOULD GIVE THE TAG NUMBER DC CB7934, WHEN I GAVE THIS NUMBER TO THE DISPATCHER , IT DID NOT MATCH THE CAR. THE PERSON HAD THE WRONG ON THE CAR. ONEDAY I SNAP A PICTURE OF THE CAR , ONLY GETTING ONE SIDE OF THE CAR, THE CAR WAS A MINT COLOR GREEN HYBRID.I HIRED A PRIVATE INVESTGATOR . THE STALKER NAME IS REV DAVID MASSEY , OF THE GRACE REFORMED CHURCH , ONE BLOCK AWAY FROM WHERE I WORK, I WOULD HAVE NEVER IMAGINE THE PERSON CAME FROM MY JOB. THIS MAN IS INTERESTED IN CHOCOLATE WOMAN . HE LIKE TO BE CRUISING THE METRO BUSSTOP. TRYING TO GET YOU INTO HIS CAR. HE ALSO LIKE TO WAIT IN THE STARBUCK STORE , ON PST,NW. HE ALWAYS WEAR GLASSES AND A CAP PULL DOWN ON HIS HEAD AND HAS A VERY THIN FACE. HE BEEN HARASSING ME FOR THE PASS 2YEAR , UP AND DOWN THE NORTHWEST AREA. I THINK THIS IS A DISGRACE TO THE RELIGION. AND I HAVE TOLD HIM TO STOP , AND HE START LAUGHING. THE CORRECT TAG NUMBER IS DC CH7934. WHEN I SNAP THE PICTURE HE MAYBE GOT SCARED , AND PUT THE CORRECT TAG ON THE CAR.KEEP YOUR EYES OPEN , AND WOMAN BE AWARE!

i definitely took poetic license
– what would w.e.b. dubois, nikki giovanni, or e.e. cummings do
if they’d have to stick with
“Black, African-American, Latino, Negro”?
…boring…
but them boys WERE chocolate:
chocolate like hot, moist brownies
before you cut into them.
and it was a shame to see such potential beauty in such a grim scene.

as i sometimes like to see it,
brown folks
– whether we’d like to put on the political label
African-American, Latino, Filipino, or whatever —
come in the full spectrum of flavors
from deep mocha fudge
to cappuccino cream.

you can’t tell me
that you’ve never seen
a brown man / woman / boy / girl
that looked poetically, edibly, delicious.

i think that we don’t have to be chocolate or African-American.
we can be both.
or switch up whenever we need it.

“Chocolate?” “Brown?” Offensive to this “chocolate” sister. Surreal it may have been and I don’t condone the behaviors in any of the incidents mentioned,but we are not flavors of the month, day, or week. Black, African-American, Latino, Negro, and thank God you bypassed the “N” word, are acceptable and preferrable in the politically-correct world.

So, this has been happening all over the Logan Circle area. I live at 11th and R and saw the EXACT same thing happen two Fridays ago. Two guys ganged up on one other guy, beat him up and raided his pockets. Poor guy tried to run after them and the police happened to be driving by, but they couldn’t catch them. I wonder if it’s the same two guys, by any chance…So sad and so hard to watch.

I saw a similar attack while I was a teenager living in Richmond. My family and I were driving to dinner, and on the side of the road we saw three guys kicking something on the ground. We stopped and saw it was another man. Lying there, not moving. They were kicking him in the head. My dad got out, popped the car trunk and pulled out two metal bats (he was my sister’s softball coach). To this day I still can’t believe he did that — they could have beaten the crap out of him. Luckily, they ran into their car and drove off. Next thing I know, my mom’s at the wheel (the car’s truck is flapping up and down) and we’re chasing these guys trying to get their license plate. Nuts. Eventually mom stops (out of fear that they had weapons) and we go back to my dad who is with the man who is gradually coming to. They ended up catching the guys, and I still think my dad stopping may have saved his life. Apparently people were watching from their houses and they didn’t know what to do.

I can totally relate to how you feel. It’s incredibly shocking to see violence like that up close, and even more interesting to see how you respond. It’s almost 10 years since this happened, and yet the memory is still fresh.

What a surreal narrative. Thank you for stopping to help as you could. As one who frequently walks through that interesection on his own way to expensive groceries, I appreciate every little bit of help from other citizens in capturing these thugs.
