rockcreek church road story: the final chapter

on thursday evening,
we closed on the rockcreek church road property.
(advertisement: paramount title is the bomb!)
it’s quite a burden off my husband’s shoulders, alHamdullilah,
and off the spirit of our family unit.

it happened quite suddenly for me:
i took the girls to story time, as usual.
went to glut for some food.
came back and ishaq told me
completely out of the blue
that the closing was that evening at 4:30PM.
and then it actually happened!!!
we were out of there by 6:45PM or so.

the man who bought it
had been trying to put the money together to buy it for some time.
he is the same man whose initial contract had originally fell though.
he really wanted the property apparently.

earlier that same day,
we release four butterflies out of the observatory.
what a fitting metaphor for the four of us.

now we can get some of the plans for ourselves rolling.
move to atlanta
– meaning the south, family, warmer climate, close muslim community –
by way of a year or so of
learning arabic in sanaa, yemen, inshAllah.

in the last few days of this journey
before finally selling rockcreek church road
i’ve felt more connected to The Source of the Best Guidance,
something i’ve been continuously praying for.

it’s especially clear in my developing beliefs about
educating our children,
and my ability and desire to do so,
for the benefit of them
and our family as unit.

so, simply,
with no fanfare, but
with MUCH joy and relief
we are ready
and prepared,
spiritually and otherwise, inshAllah.
we just wish we could take our friends with us.
